SAP data migration consultant (MM_PP_LE)

Role Summary:

We are looking for a skilled SAP Data Migration Consultant to join our SAP team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the extraction and upload of master and transactional data in the SAP ECC system. The role requires solid experience in ABAP development for data extraction and hands-on experience with various data migration tools and techniques for uploading, such as LSMW, BDC, BAPI, and IDoc. The consultant will primarily handle complex datasets related to Materials Management (MM), Production Planning (PP), and Logistics Execution (LE) processes. The role demands strong technical capability, the ability to work under high pressure, and a positive, solution-oriented attitude.

Job Description:

• Perform data extraction from SAP systems using custom ABAP programs and ALV reports.
• Enable business users to extract and validate data via Excel-compatible formats.
• Execute data upload to SAP ECC system using LSMW, BDC programs, BAPI, or IDoc depending on the data object and scenario.
• Design, develop, test, and execute data migration programs ensuring completeness and accuracy of uploaded data.
• Ensure data transformation rules are followed during upload to meet business and SAP requirements.
• Collaborate with functional consultants and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and resolve data issues.
• Work within tight deadlines while maintaining data accuracy and performance

Data Objects in Scope:

• MM:Purchasing Info Record, Source List, Scheduling Agreements, Quota Arrangements, Material Master Data.
• PP:Bill of Materials (BOM), Work Centers, Routings, Production Versions, Planned Independent Requirements (PIRs), Production/Process Orders.
• LE:Routes and Stages, Shipping Points, Deliveries (Inbound/Outbound), Shipments.
• Cross-functional:Inventory/Stock Balances, Batches, Classification Data, Customer Material Info Record.

Technical Skills Required:

• Strong ABAP development skills, especially for creating ALV reports and custom extraction tools.
• Expertise in SAP data migration tools:
• LSMW (Legacy System Migration Workbench)
• BDC (Batch Data Communication)
• BAPI (Business Application Programming Interface)
• IDoc (Intermediate Document)
• Proven debugging skills to analyze and resolve data load or program errors efficiently.
• Experience working with large datasets and ensuring performance optimization.
• Solid understanding of WM (Warehouse Management) modules and SAP MM (Materials Management).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 2 years of experience in SAP MM.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with business users, technical teams, and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage time across multiple parallel data objects.
• Detail-oriented and proactive in identifying data quality issues.

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of SAP best practices in data cleansing and harmonization.
• Previous exposure to projects in logistics, warehouse, or manufacturing environments.
